SCANDRIA ALLIANCE TALK – Collaborative logistics: a methodological approach to decarbonize and innovate urban freight

On Friday, April 11, 2025, OPEN ENLoCC participated in the Scandria Alliance Talk “Collaborative logistics: a methodological approach to decarbonize and innovate urban freight.”

During the Talk, Riccardo Maratini, Programme Manager of OPEN ENLoCC, presented the European Network of Logistics Competence Centers through the activities carried out among its members and the EU-funded projects where it is a partner. GRETA, a project funded by the Interreg Central Europe programme, was presented as a unique example of Collaborative logistics approach as a means of innovation and dialogue between actors and stakeholders in the logistics sector, to build sustainable solutions for cities, respecting the social and environmental sustainability of urban nodes and regions.

The Talk was also an opportunity to gain very interesting insights on projects developed in Finland by the LIMOWA Logistics Cluster – a member of OPEN ENLoCC – represented by Heikki Lahtinen, Secretary General and Executive Director, in which the collaborative approach has made it possible to create synergies between logistics and industrial players in the area.

Finally, Christian Fikar, Professor of Food LogisticsĀ at University of Bayreuth, presented an innovative digital system to improve and facilitate the distribution of food produced by farmers’ cooperatives and similar entities.

The Talk, moderated by Luca Simone, project manager of OPEN ENLoCC, was an interesting opportunity to delve into the application of collaborative logistics for the creation of practical solutions that facilitate the distribution of products from more remote or “smaller” entities, which, through collaboration and sharing of resources, can access markets that, as individuals, they would not be able to reach.
